Sunday morning we're off to Boutelliers, a bumpy 40 minute ride along curving, sharp turns up the mountain from Thommasin. Howard Rich of Churches in Action settles in among the 40 buckets and replacement parts we're taking to 30 members of the Church of God in Christ.
Our goal for the afternoon was to make some simple repairs and replace some broken filters. One of the challenges for long term maintenance is regular and proper care so this was a great opportunity to reenforce frequent back flushing. Interpreter Watson encourages a member to back wash his filter. And 7 years old Sorensen brought his family bucket for a check up and to get a replacement syringe! When asked what he wants to be when he grows up, he says, " I want to be a doctor to help people get well." I think he's well on his way to doing that.
